Dear Javier:

How are you man? I hope you can receive this letter in the next days. I want to tell you many things my friend. Javier I told you that I have a girlfriend and today we celebrate our first year together. I am very happy with her and I want to pass more years with her. Another thing that makes me feel a lot of feelings is that I will be in the school only 4 months more and my time in the school will finish. And I want to communicate two important advices because you told me in the past letter that you have problems with the classes in the IB that are affecting you. The advices are: take advantage of the time and don´t use the cell phone in the school.

When you take advantage of your time you can see three important things: time to study, to learn something new, and to be with your friends. The time to study is very important because you need to review in your house the things that you learn each day in the school. You can use the time to learn something new for example learn a new language, make sports like football (you like football very much), or you can know how to make first aids. Finally you will have more time to be with your friends to make fun activities.

Also don’t use your cell phone in the school because you will get distracted, addicted, and scolded. Mainly the worst problem is the distraction in classes and the result is that it makes you get bad grades. If you use so much your cell phone you will feel the necessity to be communicated with your friends all time. Another important factor is the scolding because when you use the cell phones in the school, the teachers scold you and that will create a serious problem in your attitude.

You are my best friend that’s the reason that I say you these 2 advices and you know that I am in the last year in the IB curse. You will see the results in your classes especially in those that are more difficult. Another important thing is that you will have more time to make a lot of things that you don’t imagine before like be more time with your friends and also make you improve your notes. And the use of cell phone out of school will create in you the discipline to make each thing in the right moment. Javier writes me a soon as possible to know if you like the advices that I gave you and the effect of those in your life. My best regards for you Javier.

Navarra: A place to visit.

I lived many experiences that caused an impact in my life like seeing my first trains and experiencing another type of culture.

A lot of people like to travel around the world. There are a lot of reasons why people travel. One of those is to know new places that they didn’t know before. Second, people like to have fun in the places that they already know. Finally, the people who want to have really good vacations and rest. Some people say that traveling is living. There are many places around the world that are amazing; one of those beautiful places is Navarra. I went there in the winter of 2010. I lived many experiences that caused an impact in my life like seeing my first trains and experiencing another type of culture.

The first thing that impressed me was seeing trains because Guatemala does not have trains. The characteristics of the train that I took were: clean, fast, and safe. The cleaning was amazing because it did not have anything of trash in the train. Another thing that I really liked was the velocity that the trains have because the velocity of the trains is about 100 kilometer per hour. And the most important thing was that the train is a very safe way to travel because there are very few accidents of trains.

The culture in Navarra was fantastic and I learned things that I did not know before. The most important details were the people, the food, and construction. The people were so nice with me; they invited me to walk in the city, and they were very respectful. The food was delicious and I tasted a lot of flavors which were a delight in my tongue for example the Paella. And the construction in Navarra is very different from that to Guatemala; there are not so many houses because only the rich people have one and the majority live in apartments.

I was only 3 days in Navarra but they were really incredible days. The trains for me were the best thing that I saw. And the culture is amazing and you can learn a lot of things for example eating a delicious Paella. My recommendation is that if you have the possibility to travel to Navarra, do it because you will know a beautiful place and you will learn a lot of things of a different culture.

Why should the cell phones be banned at school?

The students need all the attention in the school, but if they use the cell phone, they will get distracted, addicted, and scolded. Mainly the worst problem students face is the distraction in classes and the result is that it makes the students get bad grades. The addiction students develop is the necessity to be communicated with their friends all time. With the new technology that allows phones to have internet people are communicated all time for example with the Blackberry and the I-phone. Another important factor is the scolding because when the students use the cell phones in the school, the teachers scold them and that will create a serious problem in the attitude of the students. Summarizing, the use of cell phones in school should be forbidden because they create distraction, addiction, and scolding for the students.
